The concept for the development of Technological centers in the Republic of Latvia was worked out in 1992 by the Department of Higher Education, Science and Research of the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science. The Latvian Technological Center (LTC), the first technological center in Latvia, was established in June 3, 1993. The founders were Riga City Council, Latvian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Physical Energetics and Latvian National Society for Quality.

Latvian Technological Center is registrated in the Register of Research Institutions at the Ministry of Education and science of the Republic of Latvia (since 2006).
Member of the following associations:
International Association of Science Parks - IASP (since 1997),
European Business amd Innovation Center Network - EBN (since 2003),
Baltic Association of Science/Technology Parks and Innovation Centers - BASTIC(since 1996),
Latvian Association of Technology Parks, Centers and Business Incubators - LTICA (since 1996).
