Knowledge management is the management of the organisation towards the continuous renewal of the organisational knowledge base - this means e.g. creation of supportive organisational structures, facilitation of organisational members, putting IT-instruments with emphasis on teamwork and diffusion of knowledge (as e.g. groupware) into place.

 
Knowledge Management Audit
Knowledge Management audit is the all important first major phase or step of a knowledge management initiative and it is used to provide a sound investigation into the company or organisation’s knowledge «health». The audit is a fact-finding analysis, interpretation and reporting activity, which includes a study of the company’s information and knowledge policies, its knowledge structure and knowledge flow.
