Baltic Dynamics 2007 has successfully ended
From 13th to 15th of September the annual international conference Baltic Dynamics took place in Riga again. This year organized by Latvian Technology centre, the event gathered more than 400 participants from 35 countries, which is a record in the 12 - year history of Baltic Dynamics.
This year's event was an approval not only to enthusiasm and mobility of Baltic countries, but also to the ability to organize international level conference that involved participants from 35 countries, even so distant and exotic as China, Mexico and Bahrain. This year conference also gathered a record number of guest lecturers: 4 from USA, and 1 lecturer from each country: Spain, Germany and the Netherlands. Overall 85 reports were presented.
Appreciation from the side of foreign delegates is the best confirmation for the high level of the innovation culture in Latvia. Moreover - several governmental and other officials participated the events of Baltic Dynamics this year: minister of education and science Baiba Rivţa, minister of economy Jurijs Strods and manager of LIDA (Latvian Investment and Development Agency) Andris Ozols. The biggest honour was to welcome the president of Latvia Valdis Zatlers for the evening event.
Several parallel events and sessions took place in frame of Baltic Dynamics conference:
- The global convention of associations of business incubators
- The convention of Baltic states council;
- The convention of education and science ministers council of Baltic states;
- Sessions of projects BaltMetInno and RAIN
- After-conference seminar of the SPICE group
- IRC Network session on technology transfer
- VBN project seminar (INTERREG)
- Meetings of CROSSBENT, SMEsGoHealth, Match2Bio project workgroups
Additionally, in frame of Baltic Dynamics conference LIDA and Riga Council were organizing a youth conference "Ideas Cup '07". The final sum of the participants together with the youth conference was calculated as 730.
